JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or familiarly called Cak Imin met with the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Wednesday, March 24.

In the meeting that was held at the Surakarta Loji Gandrung Solo Mayor's Office, Cak Imin admitted to staying in touch and giving encouragement to the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"My visit to Solo was to meet Mas Gibran, first in the context of a gathering to convey his congratulations because since being elected (as Mayor of Surakarta) he has not had the chance to meet him," said Cak Imin after meeting.

Cak Imin hopes that Gibran will be more enthusiastic in fixing the city of Surakarta and making Solo a more advanced city. "We will all pray for, support and make Solo a progressive one," he said.

Asked about a special message, he hopes that Gibran can become an example for other regional heads. "We also entrust NU (Nahdlatul Ulama) and PKB (National Awakening Party) here to grow," he said.

Regarding the Gibran issue, which is predicted to run as the Governor of DKI Jakarta, he supports it.

"First success in Solo, then anywhere. God willing, Mas Gibran, a successful future leader in Solo, will bring progress everywhere. I will definitely support him," he said. After receiving the visit, Gibran said that he had no special talks with Cak Imin.

"There is no serious discussion, just afternoon coffee. There are several messages, there are several tasks. We'll work on it together," he said.
