JAKARTA - The heirloom flag and the proclamation manuscript will be carried through a procession to the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) for the commemoration ceremony of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day.

During the procession, the entourage carrying the heirloom flag and the proclamation manuscript will go through several protocol roads ranging from the Jakarta National Monument (Monas) to the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.

"The activities start from Monas, Horse Statue, Thamrin, Sudirman Street, Gatot Subroto Street, to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport," wrote the Instagram account @tmcpoldametro quoted Friday, August 9.

Possibly, in the procession, the police will implement traffic engineering. However, the scheme that will be implemented is not yet known.

So far, in the upload of the official account of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, the narrative of the appeal to the public not to cross the road that will be passed by the entourage of heirloom flag carnivals and the text of the proclamation.

"The motorists are advised to avoid these roads. If they are forced, they are expected to find other alternative routes," he wrote.

The carnival activity is planned to take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, starting at 08.00 WIB.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono previously mentioned that the heirloom flag and the proclamation manuscript would be flown to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, and would then be taken to the IKN area in North Penajam Paser.

"The one who did the carnival was Paskibraka in 2023, and of course this has been trained by all and the public can see on that date," explained Heru.

Acting Head of the IKN Authority as well as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono added that the State Palace of IKN already has an heirloom flag room to store heirloom flags and proclamation scripts.

"So later the heirloom flag will be placed in the heirloom flag room, including the text of the proclamation," said Basuki.
