JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed over 43,122 hectares of land certified land management rights to the community through the Land Objects Reform Agrarian (Tora) program.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in his remarks at the Expo LIKE 2 event which took place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Friday.
"Today, 20 decrees consist of 43,122 hectares which were handed over by the President at this event to the public," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 9.
Airlangga said the land was part of the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry regarding the Determination of Changes to the Forest Area Boundary (SK Biru) which has now been published as many as 173 decrees covering a total area of 296,736 hectares and has been handed over to the community.
Of the total 20 decrees handed over by the President to recipient representatives, said Airlangga, 16 of them were oil palm land managed by 8,496 planters.
Meanwhile, there are 696 green decrees or social forests with a land area of 7.47 hectares. A total of 40 decrees, including 16,800 hectares of land, were symbolically handed over by President Jokowi to 3,526 families.
Airlangga said the Agrarian Reform program was the main pillar of economic equity launched by President Jokowi since 2017 to provide equal treatment and also provide opportunities for the community.
"For this reason, the completion of the use of land in forest areas is important, one of which is applied to people's oil palm plantations to support good governance," he said.
