JAKARTA - The United States (US) military forces have attacked targets in Yemen controlled by the Houthis in the past 24 hours. The US destroyed two drones, Houthi land control stations, and three anti-ship cruise missiles.
Previously, the Houthis in partnership with Iran claimed to have attacked container ships in the Red Sea and two US destroyers in Aden Bay on Wednesday, August 7.
"These weapons present a clear and immediate threat to US troops and coalitions, as well as merchant ships in the region," the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
The US called the reckless and dangerous behavior' committed by the Houthis threatens regional stability, but does not provide further details and does not confirm any US ships being attacked.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the Houthi air force previously launched drones against US destroyer Cole and fired a number of ballistic missiles at the US Lamonoon destroyer on Wednesday.
Liberian-flagged container ship Contship Ono, was also targeted by ballistic missiles and drones.
Congress Management in Athens told Reuters the ship was not hit and its crew survived.
