Riau Police Arrest Carrier 1 Kilogram Of Methamphetamine Who Escaped At Pekanbaru Airport

PeKANBARU - Riau Regional Police arrested a young man carrying 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine who had escaped repeatedly carrying drugs at Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport (SSK) II Pekanbaru City.

Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Police, Kombes Manang Soebeti, said the young man from Aceh with the initials MNA (19) had been picking up methamphetamine in Pekanbaru, then he took him to the destination by airplane.

"MNA has escaped the examination eight times at the airport and managed to bring methamphetamine. On one trip, she was able to carry 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

According to Manang, MNA had its own trick when carrying methamphetamine to escape the examination of officers and the X-Rayyakni 1 kilogram methamphetamine machine, which was divided by the suspect into five packs and then tucked into pants.

Furthermore, the methamphetamine that had been inserted, was put in a suitcase and put in the trunk of the plane. This is done to avoid X-Ray's examination at the airport.

Based on the results of the interrogation, MNA is known to have been given Rp65 million in wages for one trip to pick up and deliver 1 kilogram of illicit goods. MNA admitted that she had often picked up methamphetamine to be escorted back to the destination according to the controller's direction.

Initially, MNA only received the road money first. Wages of Rp. 65 million will be received if the methamphetamine is successfully picked up in Pekanbaru and taken to the destination area.

"After picking up methamphetamine in Pekanbaru, it will be sent to several destination areas. His confession is that Jakarta has been three times, then Lombok (NTB) and others," said Kombes Manang.

MNA was finally arrested by the Riau Police Narcotics Sub-Directorate II Opsnal team. Initially, the team received information about drug transactions at a hotel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Pekanbaru City.

The team then carried out surveillance at the location of the hotel in question and saw a man with the characteristics according to the information obtained. The police carried out a raid on the room and when searched, it was found that methamphetamine was stored in clear plastic weighing about 1 kg.

"The perpetrator admitted that he was ordered by someone named Si Tek and Leman who were in Aceh to pick up methamphetamine in Pekanbaru," said Manang.
