The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the process of handing over a tsunami shelter in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) whose construction has been corrupted to the North Lombok Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

This effort was made by examining the former Head of the North Lombok BPBD Office R. Tresnawadi and other witnesses today.

"The BPBD is being investigated regarding the handover of the building," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, August 7.

In addition, there are also private parties being investigated in this case. Tessa said they were investigated about participation when the project auction was held.

As for the information gathered, the BPBD examined other than Tresnawadi is the BPBD staff of NTB Province Darwis. Then also examined by the Head of BPKAD North Lombok Regency in 2014-2015 Kholidi Holil and the Head of the NTB Provincial Public Works Service who is also the former Head of Cipta Karya, Department of Public Works, NTB Sadimin Province.

Meanwhile, the private parties being questioned were the President Directors of PT Utama Beton Perkasa, Roby and Muhammad Taufik as representatives of PT Indra Agung.

Actually, there were other witnesses who were also questioned but they were absent. Both are the Head of BPBD North Lombok for the 2018 period Iwan Maret Asmara and Robinzadhi who are Directors of PT Barokah Karya Mataram.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the construction of a temporary evacuation site (TES) or tsunami shelter in NTB. There are two people who have been named as suspects, details of one is a state administrator and another comes from a state-owned company.

It was stated that the construction was carried out by the Building and Environmental Planning Task Force, the Implementation Activities for Building and Environmental Planning (PBL) of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in 2014. The investigation into the alleged corruption has been carried out since 2023.

The budget for the construction of shelters, which ends up being corrupted, comes from the Ministry of PUPR. The alleged mode of development is to reduce the quality of development.

The project cost a budget of up to IDR 20 billion. Meanwhile, the state's loss is approximately IDR 19 billion and can still increase because the calculation is still being carried out.
