BMKG Forecasts Big Cities In Indonesia Rain To Cloudy On Wednesday 7 August

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts rainy and cloudy weather will hit the majority of major cities in Indonesia.

BMKG forecaster Andika F Hapsari said a number of major cities in Sumatra have the potential to rain, such as Pekanbaru, Padang, Bengkulu, Medan, and Tanjung Pinang.

"Meanwhile, Banda Aceh and Jambi are forecasted to be thick cloudy, while Pangkal Pinang and Palembang are cloudy," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

He explained that large cities on the island of Java are predicted to be cloudy, such as Serang, Jakarta, and Bandung. Meanwhile, cloudy weather has the potential to occur in Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. BMKG predicts light rain will fall in Denpasar and cloudy weather will occur in the Mataram and Kupang areas.

"Rainfall weather dominates the condition of a number of major cities in Kalimantan, including Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, and Banjarmasin," he said.

Rainy conditions were also experienced by a number of cities on the island of Sulawesi, such as Mamuju, Palu, Manado, Gorontalo, Kendari, and Makassar.

In eastern Indonesia, BMKG predicts moderate intensity rain in Ternate, Sorong, Nabire, and Merauke.
