Prabowo Announces Cabinet Composition The Day After Being Inaugurated As President October 21

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said Prabowo Subianto plans to announce the composition of his cabinet on October 21, 2024 or the day after being sworn in as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024 period. 2029.

Prabowo conveyed his plan to Luhut when the two attended a limited meeting (ratas) with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, August 5.

"Yesterday he said, Bang, I was sworn in on October 20, on October 21, I announced the cabinet, I launched it, then the cabinet session on October 23," Luhut said during a book launch event at Wisma Elang Laut, Jakarta, Tuesday, revealing the contents of his conversation with Prabowo.

Luhut believes that Prabowo will immediately work quickly to carry out his work programs, including to solve a number of problems and challenges currently faced. Some of these problems, as stated by Luhut, are related to the database of oil palm plantations and audits.

"So, actually our country is super rich, and I am very happy that the elected presidential candidate understands that, and his desire to resolve it quickly," said Luhut.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is also optimistic that the transition from the government of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo-Vice President Ma'ruf Amin to the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government can also run smoothly.

The reason is that President Jokowi immediately instructed his staff to help the transition run smoothly so that the new government, which will be led by Prabowo, does not need to start from scratch.

"So, I think we should continue to bring this culture forward so that the next administration (next government) does not start from scratch," said Luhut.

He acknowledged that the communication between Jokowi's ministers and Prabowo's transition team was going quite well.

"Everything is shared. What is the goal? For the good of the Republic. So, that way he can be fast," he continued.

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were appointed by the Indonesian KPU as pairs of presidential/vice presidential candidates elected on April 24, 2024. Both are scheduled to be sworn in as Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024 '2029 period on October 20, 2024.
