Bareskrim Ensures Initials T Gambling Control Is Not Tommy Hermawan Lo

JAKARTA - The Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri provided clarification regarding the news that the online gambling controller in Indonesia was Tommy Hermawan Lo, the son of property entrepreneur Jerry Hermawan Lo.

"Oh, it's not true (the news of Tommy Hermawan)," Djuhandhani told reporters quoted on Tuesday, August 6.

Djuhandhani said the Head of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani said that the figure T was sourced from the Chairman of BP2MI Serang Joko Purwanto, who is currently dead. This, he said, could not be proven.

Regarding the continuation of the investigation because Benny's statement has no evidence, Djuhandhani said it depends on the progress later. "We will see further information whether we will hold this, we will analyze it together, but what is clear is that the source does not mention who T is," he said.

Djuhandhani asked the public not to make issues in suspecting the figure of T. Previously, comedian Kabul Basuki, who is familiarly known as Tessy Srimulat, claimed to be associated with the figure T. "Don't let other victims later be, as reported by the name T in front," he said.

Regarding legal consequences, such as the spread of hoax news against Benny, Bareskrim will analyze it first. "We will see later on the legal consequences, we will see later on the analysis whether the information is included in spreading news and so on, of course we will explore this," said Djuhandhani.

The figure of businessman Tommy Hermawan Lo was widely discussed on social media, which was linked to the figure T who was suspected of being the boss controlling online gambling.
