BATAM - Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto submitted a direct recommendation letter to the Amsakar Achmad and Li Claudia Chandra pairs to run in the 2024 Batam Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elections. Prabowo submitted the recommendation during a working visit to Batam City, Riau Islands Province (Kepri), Sunday, August 4. However, after carrying out his activities, Prabowo did not provide information to the media regarding the submission of the recommendation letter or the event activities. In his meeting with Prabowo, Amsakar Achmad said that the elected presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election asked him to keep his spirits up and fight in the 2024 Batam Pilkada contestation. "He advised us to remain enthusiastic, maintain conduciveness, and protect the country of the Republic of Indonesia. He spoke very briefly, essentially supporting and fighting spirit in the 2024 Batam Pilkada," said Amsakar after receiving a letter of recommendation from the Gerindra Ketum as reported by Antara. A number of parties that have submitted recommendation letters to the Amsakar Achmad-Li Claudia Chandra pair, including Gerindra, NasDem, PKB, PPP, PAN, PSI, Democrats, Hanura, PKN, PKS, and the Golkar Party. Previously, the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) issued a recommendation to Ansar Ahmad and Nyanyang Haris Pratamura to run in the 2024 Riau Islands Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Kepri). This is stated in the Recommendation Letter Number 08-1004/Rekom/DPP-GERINDRA/2024 which was signed by Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto and Gerindra Secretary General Ahmad Muzani. Chairman of the DPC of the Batam City Gerindra Party, Haris Pratamura in Batam, Friday, said that this recommendation was the decision of the Gerindra Party DPP. He was grateful when he received the recommendation.

"I am ready for this decision. Accompany Pak Ansar to prosper and bring Riau Islands forward in the future," said Nyanyang.
