Mbak Ita And Her Husband Were Questioned About The Procurement Process In Semarang City

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finished examining the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD today. Both were questioned about the procurement of goods and services which ended up being corrupted.

"Sister HGR and Brother AB have been present to fulfill the summons of the investigator concerned or both of them were asked for information in order to explain several procurement processes carried out in Semarang City," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 1.

"The relationship with AB is more specifically related to the private sector," he continued.

Tessa said Ita was being investigated in her capacity as a witness. Meanwhile, she called Alwin the status of being examined.

In the future, Ita and Alwin are said to have the opportunity to be called again. Tessa said this summons was aimed at clarifying the evidence found in the search process.

However, he has not specified when the follow-up summons will be made. "There are several pieces of evidence that have been confiscated, not all of which have been asked of the person concerned. So there are still several more examinations of the two people, we'll just have to wait," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK began investigating three alleged corruption crimes within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot). The details are the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.

In this case, the Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita, was questioned on Thursday, August 1. Likewise, her husband who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD.

Ita did not want to talk much after being questioned. He only said investigators had been working according to the procedure.

Meanwhile, Alwin chose to remain silent and rushed out of the anti-corruption commission office. In addition to examining the two, investigators have also asked for information from the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono (MTN) and the President Director of PT Deka Sari Perkasa, P. Rachmat Utama Djangkar (PRUD) on Wednesday, July 31.

They were both questioned about the process of procuring goods and services at the Semarang City Government by investigators. Martono and Rachmat have now been asked by the KPK to be prevented from leaving the country with Ita and Alwin Basri.
