Attend Tahlilan At The Funeral Home, Puan Remembers The Legacy Of Haz Hamzah Science

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, attended the seven-day tahlilan of the death of the 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Hamzah Haz. For him, Hamzah Haz passed on his knowledge.

The seven-day tahlilan event of Hamzah Haz's death was held at the funeral home of the deceased who was at Jalan Tegalan Matraman, East Jakarta, Tuesday (31/7) night. A number of families, relatives and neighbors attended the tahlilan.

Puan was here to pray for Hamzah Haz, who is vice president of the 5th era of Megawati Soekarnoputri. During the tahlilan event, he sat beside Hamzah Haz's daughter, Vera Safianti Haz.

"I was here last night to pray for the late Mr. Hamzah Haz who had a big role for Indonesia. Including staying in touch and representing the family to convey his direct condolences to the family of the deceased," said Puan, Wednesday, July 31.

Hamzah Haz's seven-day tahlilan event was visited by quite a number of residents until it spilled over in front of the house. Many sad flowers still come.

Puan said that many people felt they had lost the figure of Hamzah Haz.

"Anyone who knows the deceased must know that he is a figure who protects all. His dedication has contributed a lot to this nation and state," said Puan.

Puan previously called Hamzah Haz a shady figure and embraced him. The former chairman of PPP is also considered to be a plenary statesman who donated himself to the nation and state. As an economist and Indonesian Islamic activist, Hamzah Haz is said to have many scientific heritages.

"I remember his scientific heritage again, especially how his very high human values were. Mr. Hamzah Haz is a clear proof of a figure who humanizes humans even though he is one of Indonesia's great figures," said Puan.

Megawati Soekarnoputri's daughter also stated that the spirit of unity and integrity that Hamzah Haz is always fighting for must be continued by current figures. This spirit, said Puan, must also be inherited by the younger generation of Indonesia.

"The heritage of the values he is fighting for must continue to live for Indonesia. And this nation must not forget his services and contributions during his lifetime," said Bung Karno's grandson.

Hamzah Haz died at the age of 84 on Thursday (25/7). The deceased was known as a wise and brave figure while leading Indonesia in the 2001 '2004.

"He is an example for all of us in maintaining the integrity of Indonesia. The national and Islamic values he holds firmly are an inspiration for many people. The Indonesian nation has lost a large and humble figure," concluded Puan.
