Gelora Party Becomes A Support For PKS Joining Prabowo-Gibran

JAKARTA - Director of the Indonesian Survey and Poling Institute (SPIN), Igor Dirgantara, assessed that the opportunity for PKS to enter the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government is very small. Because, internally the Advanced Indonesia Coalition already has a fractional Gelora Party from PKS.

"(The entry of PKS) is not that simple. In KIM there is the Gelora Party. In addition, it also depends on the constellation of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, because PKS that carries Anies has the potential to fight candidates from Gerindra or KIM," he said, Sunday, July 28, 2024.

However, the opportunity for PKS to join the Prabowo-Gibran government has not been completely closed. Igor analogized that currently KIM is like a school opening the first wave of new student registrations, where the parties that have the potential to enter are the NasDem Party and the PKB. "Well, the possibility of PKS and PPP being able to enter in the second wave later," he added.

"There could be a third wave, it's the PDI-P's turn to join the Prabowo-Gibran government. Politics is the art of possibility, especially since Prabowo also wants national reconciliation after the 2024 presidential election," continued Igor.

He considered that PKS did not want to be left alone because in the 2014 and 2019 elections it had been in Prabowo's camp. "Maybe that makes PKS much more comfortable than having to be outside the government with PDIP," said Igor.
