Bali Police Reveals Case Of Subsidized LPG Coupling In Denpasar

Denpasar Bali Regional Police (Polda) has again revealed the criminal act of mixing subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on Jalan Tunjung Tutur III, Gang Pari, Peguyangan Kaja Village, North Denpasar District. This disclosure is part of the 2024 Great Condition Creation Operation (Ops Cipkon).

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Police Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, revealed that currently the perpetrators and evidence have been secured at the Bali Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) for further investigation. "The perpetrator and evidence have been secured for the investigation process," he said in Denpasar, Saturday, July 27.

The disclosure of this case began with public information on Thursday, July 25 at around 05.00 WITA. The Bali Police Criminal Investigation Directorate team who are members of the Cipkon Ops Law Enforcement Task Force (Gakkum) conducted an investigation regarding alleged criminal acts of abuse of transportation and gas trading subsidized by the government, as well as the transfer or mixing of LPG gas in suspected locations.

The Gakkum Task Force found a warehouse suspected of being involved in the activity. The warehouse owner, with the initials INS, together with a worker named EIS, was found moving a 3kg subsidized LPG into a 50kg LPG tube. In addition, in the warehouse, several 50kg LPG cylinders were found filled, 12kg and 3kg LPG cylinders, as well as related equipment.

The confiscated evidence includes 40 50kg LPG cylinders filled, 19 12kg LPG cylinders filled, four empty LPG cylinders, 34 3kg LPG cylinders filled, 78 empty 3kg LPG cylinders, 13 iron pipes, one nail scissors, 250 LPG tube seal rubber, and a black Suzuki Carry Pick Up.

"The perpetrators of INS (the warehouse owner) and EIS (the warehouse employee) are currently still undergoing further investigation at the Bali Police Ditreskrimsus," explained Jansen.

The two perpetrators face criminal charges in accordance with Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning oil and gas and/or Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion.
