Next Week The KPK Will Call Witnesses In The Semarang City Government Corruption Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the examination of witnesses in the corruption case in the Semarang City Government (Pemkot), Central Java will soon be held. This request for information was made after a two-week search.

"Most likely the inspection activities will be carried out next week," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, July 26.

Tessa has not specified who will be questioned. Likewise with the summons of the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu with her husband, Arwin Basri.

But this opportunity is wide open in the examination and could have been carried out by Semarang. "I don't know yet. Most likely there," said a spokesman with the background of this investigator.

"Because the investigation task force team is currently carrying out activities there, yes, it will definitely continue. Most likely yes, but if it will be brought here (to Jakarta, ed) for inspection, it could also be like that. But of course later we will update it," continued Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK announced the start of the investigation of three alleged corruption crimes within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot). The details are the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.

There have been four people who have been prevented from leaving the country for the first six months. The details are two state administrators while the rest are private.

Based on information circulating, the four people who were prevented were Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu who was the Mayor of Semarang with her husband, Alwin Basri; Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono; and Rahmat Djangkar who is a private party.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission has named four suspects. The notification letter for the start of the investigation (SPDP) has been sent and is said to have been received by them even though it has not been submitted.
