Trump's Rupsons Kremlin Calls Russia A War Machine Against Hitler, Alludes To Trump's Leadership Era Sanctions

JAKARTA - The Kremlin responded to Donald Trump's comments calling Russia a "war engine" that defeated Napoleon and Hitler.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to a question about Trump's comments to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy by phone call on July 19.

Trump then told Fox News he told Zelenskiy the war had to end.

"This is a war machine that you are facing. That's what they (Russia) did, they fought. They beat Hitler. They beat Napoleon. We have to finish this war," Trump said.

Commenting on Trump's statement, Peskov said, "it might be useful for most Americans to know that there are many brilliant pages in Russian history, and indeed, perhaps only a few people in the US, which we mean are ordinary Americans, and perhaps representatives of so-called politics. establishment, know deep history," he said.

But Peskov, when asked about Mike Pompeo's statement, the former foreign minister under Trump in the Wall Street Journal, said the Kremlin was very observant in assessing what Trump's presidency meant to Russia.

Pompeo's comments suggest Trump imposes new harsh sanctions on Moscow if elected and stepped up aid for Ukraine.
