Want To Be Invited To Join Prabowo's Government Like PKB, PPP: Don't Forget, There's A Brother

JAKARTA - Plt. Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono asked the National Awakening Party (PKB) not to forget his party if he later joined the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

This was conveyed by Mardiono in the 26th Harlah of PKB. In the event, PKB was invited by Gerindra to join the Prabowo government.

"There are things that should not be forgotten. Quoting what was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, don't win alone. (PKB) don't forget too, there is a brother," said Mardiono at the Jakarta Convention Center, Tuesday, July 23 night.

Mardiono considers PPP to be a PKB brother because both were born from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). On that basis, Mardiono asked PKB to be on the same path in the future government.

"Because these brothers were also born to Nahdlatul Ulama, they shouldn't be left behind either. Although, together sometimes annoying. But God willing, if you are old, with your brother, God willing, you won't," explained Mardiono.

After the event, Mardiono admitted that the decision to join or not PPP in the future government was Prabowo's prerogative as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029.

"What is meant is to join the government cabinet, yes. That is the president's prerogative. Yes, of course, later the elected president, Mr. Prabowo Subianto will choose the best team," said Mardiono.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, previously openly invited PKB to join the Prabowo government for the 2024-2029 period.

According to Dasco, Gerindra should invite PKB to join the government camp because the two parties had "integrated" to form a temporary coalition in the 2024 presidential election, before finally PKB and Gerindra were in different coalitions.

This was revealed by Dasco when giving a speech at the PKB 26th Harlah event which was also attended by all leaders of political parties.

"In the future, PKB, Gerindra, all parties must be together. Because we have already been said that we are an old love, we are waiting for PKB to join the government together," said Dasco.
