Cak Imin Talks About Coalition Can Disband Because Of Cawagub's Different Choices, PKS Insinuation?

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) admitted that the formation of a coalition of parties that carried out a pair of regional head candidates did not always run smoothly.

This was revealed by Cak Imin when responding to the development of PKB investigations in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Although he did not clearly mention the nomination in Jakarta, Cak Imin admitted that there was an opportunity that the coalition party being built would change if there was no agreement regarding the determination of one of the candidates.

"Everything else is in the Pilkada desk, yes. The development changes every day. I have supported A, suddenly the coalition map has changed. I have supported B, suddenly the representatives are not suitable. Well, it all becomes a pilkada problem that I cannot convey because the regional election desk can develop," said Cak Imin at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday, July 23.

The Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives also revealed the possibility of a coalition carrying the same governor candidate being disbanded if he did not agree in determining his deputy governor candidate.

"For example, a candidate for governor A for the coalition asked for his deputy, but PKB didn't want to, disband again. That's a lot in both city and provincial districts," said Cak Imin.

So, according to Cak Imin, PKB continues to take advantage of the available time before the registration period for the 2024 Pilkada to finalize the nomination of the regional head candidate pair.

"Therefore, officially there will be a gradual process for all regional elections to be announced one by one. It can't be fast," he explained.

For information, PKB has not issued a recommendation for the investigation to Anies to become the governor of DKI Jakarta. Likewise with the NasDem Party, even though it has announced that it will carry Anies.

Currently, only the PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) has declared that it will support Anies as the governor of DKI Jakarta by pairing the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman as the cawagub.

However, PKB does not agree if Anies is paired with Sohibul. Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid said that many of his cadres had the same quality as Sohibul.

"For PKB cadres who are at Pak Sohibul Iman's level, even above, there are many stocks. Therefore, we need to sit down together," said Jazilul at the PKB DPP Office, Monday, July 22.
