Chronology Of The Director General Of Railways Who Is Positive For COVID-19 After Conducting A Swab Test

JAKARTA - Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Zulfikri tested positive for the corona virus or COVID-19 after carrying out a swab test. When the test was carried out, Zulfikri's status as a person under monitoring (ODP).

"This morning March 24, I was informed that I was positive for COVID-19 based on the results of a swab test conducted at the Ministry of Transportation on March 18. At that time, all test participants had ODP status and were asked to isolate their homes waiting for the results. Alhamdulillah, my wife was declared negative," he said via written statement received by VOI, in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 24.

According to Zulfikri, currently he is being asked to isolate himself in his home room, while waiting for directions from the COVID-19 task force, which is likely to carry out a swab test again to see the progress of the previous swab test results.

"Previously, March 9 to 13, I was hospitalized with pneumia (sympton coughing a little) at Eka Hospital BSD and was allowed to return home with antibiotics," he said.

As of March 21, said Zulfikri, it had been declared better and was not given antibiotics. Until now, his condition is also in good health. No fever, cough and shortness of breath.

"Since I became ODP status, I have been isolated at home, used a mask and prevented contact with others," he explained.

Zulfikri also asked anyone who had direct contact with him since March 18 to carry out a self-examination.

"I still sincerely beg those who may have been in contact with me during the above period to immediately check with doctors, especially those with sympton and poor medical history in an effort to break the chain of transmission," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi also tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday 14 March. In the previous two weeks, the Minister of Transportation had attended a meeting at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on March 4 and 11, 2020.

Currently Budi Karya is still being treated in the isolation room of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD), Jakarta. After a week of treatment, his condition has improved.
