KPK Confiscates Documents and Electronic Items from Search in Bandung

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators conducted searches at several locations in West Bandung from Saturday, March 20 to Sunday, March 21.

The search was carried out to investigate allegations of corruption at the West Bandung Regency Social Service regarding the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic.

From the series of searches, the KPK found several pieces of evidence, such as documents and electronic items.

KPK Spokesman for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri said the searches carried out by the investigating team on Saturday, March 20, were carried out in three different locations.

"The place of search is the residence of the parties related to this case", Ali said in a written statement, Monday, March 22.

Although he did not explain who the party referred to was, this search was carried out in Cicangkanggirang Village, Sindangkerta, West Bandung; Buah Batu, Bandung, West Java; and Mekarsari Village, Cimaung, Bandung Regency, West Java.

"Evidence has been found and secured including various documents and electronic items that are suspected of being related to the case", he said.

Furthermore, on Sunday, March 21, a search was carried out at the residence of a related party in the Cimareme area, Ngamprah, West Bandung Regency, West Java. "During the search, evidence was found and secured in the form of electronic items related to the case," he said.

After the evidence is secured, Ali said, the investigation team will analyze it to make a confiscation as a complement to the investigation file of this corruption case.

Previously reported, the KPK was investigating the alleged corruption case at the West Bandung Social Service. This investigation was carried out about allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.

However, the KPK has not publicly provided a complete description of this case as well as the party designated as a suspect.

Because, according to the provisions during the leadership of Firli Bahuri, the announcement of the suspect will be made when KPK investigators have made attempts to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.

Also, the suspect's announcement and case construction have not been announced because investigators are still completing their work.
