JAKARTA - The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, invited all the local Ansor Youth Movement (GP) to collaborate to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and restore the economy.

"The Medan City Government is very ready to collaborate with various parties including the Medan City Ansor Youth Movement (GP) in reviving the economy of the people," Bobby said as quoted Monday, March 22.

Bobby said that until now all sub-districts in Medan were still in the Red Zone of the spread of COVID-19. Pemko Medan, continued Bobby, cannot move alone to change this Red Zone to Yellow or Green. Collaboration with all components of society is needed, including GP Ansor.

"In the past, the students helped expel invaders from Indonesian soil, now I invite GP Ansor to get rid of COVID-19," said Bobby while saying, currently the Medan City Government is also aggressively making efforts to discipline the public to implement health protocols, including in entertainment venues. night. In connection with the economic recovery, Bobby invited GP Ansor to make mosques not only as places of worship, but also as a power for economic movement. A mosque can be a forum for the development of MSMEs, cooperatives, Mekar, and waqf banks.

According to Bobby, the number of mosques in Medan which is more than 1,100 is the potential to drive the sharia economy. What needs to be done now is data collection so that careful planning can be drawn up.

"Come on, GP Ansor, we make the mosque one of the energies to drive the economy," the mayor asked.

In his remarks, Bobby also expressed his happiness in being able to stay in touch with the leader of the Al Kautsar Islamic Boarding School, Syekh KH Ali Akbar Marbun. He revealed that Sheikh Ali Marbun had long had a friendly relationship with his family.

"He is a friend of my late father. Hopefully this friendship will be maintained, "said Bobby.

Previously, Syekh KH Ali Akbar Marbun in his remarks expressed his joy at the Ansor GP Conference in this pesantren. He also expressed his joy at the presence of the Mayor of Medan at this event. He said that Bobby was part of the Al Kautsar Islamic boarding school's extended family. Bobby and his family also frequently visit this pesantren.
