JAKARTA - European Union (EU) foreign ministers will discuss Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's visit to Russia, Ukraine and China, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said.

"(Today) I will hold a closed session, just ministers, to discuss what has happened in recent weeks, regarding the visits to Moscow, to Kiev, to Beijing, by Prime Minister (Hungary) Orban," Borrell said as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Monday, July 22.

The closed meeting will also discuss Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto's speech at the United Nations Security Council accusing the EU of inciting war, Borrell said.

"This is absolutely unacceptable," Borrell said as he arrived for the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.

The bloc's foreign ministers will also discuss the Ukraine crisis, the situation in the Middle East, and the EU's priorities in developing digital diplomacy.

In addition, they will hold an informal meeting with European Investment Bank President Nadia Calvino.

Orban is on a "peace mission" this month, visiting Russia, Ukraine and China and meeting with their presidents to present his vision for the peace process.

He also met with presidential candidate and former US President Donald Trump.

Several EU leaders have criticized the moves by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, as abusing his office.
