Gerindra Denies Usung Ahmad Lutfi In Central Java Gubernatorial Election Because Sudaryono 'Tukar Guling' Becomes Deputy Minister

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party carries the Central Java Police Chief, Ahmad Lutfi as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Central Java Pilkada. Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani denied that his party carried Ahmad Lutfi because of the 'exchange of overthrows' because the chairman of the Central Java Gerindra DPD, Sudaryono, was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan).

Muzani revealed that the reason Gerindra brought Ahmad Lutfi was because the three-star general already understood the ins and outs of Central Java. Meanwhile, the reason Gerindra canceled carrying Sudaryono was that his young cadres focused on becoming Deputy Ministers.

"No, because we feel that Pak Luthfi is the Central Java Police Chief and he is from Central Java, has worked as Kapolda for a long time there, he understands the condition of Central Java and he has been preparing himself for a long time," said Muzani, Monday, July 22.

"Meanwhile, Pak Sudaryono is a young man, who is of course the deputy minister of agriculture. He feels he cannot divide the tasks if both of them are pregnant," he continued.

Muzani dismissed the news that Gerindra was forced to carry Lutfi because Sudaryono gave in so he resigned as a Central Java cagub.

"The timeline is Luthfi, the governor of Central Java, Daryono, the deputy minister of agriculture," said Muzani.

Regarding the coalition, Muzani ensured that the political parties that were members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) agreed to carry Ahmad Lutfi in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

"This decision, of course, after we communicated, coordinated with parties that are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition and finally we decided to go to the Ahmad Luthfi Hajj," said Muzani.
