JAKARTA - The Bogor City Government has allowed cinemas in Bogor City to open again to the public but by implementing strict health protocols and without eating and drinking activities in the studio during film screenings.

"The cinema is allowed to open to restore the economic sector in Bogor City, but in operation it must strictly implement health protocols," said Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, while inspecting the XXI Cinema at Boxies Mall, in Bogor City, as reported by Antara, Sunday, March 21. .

According to Bima Arya, cinemas in Bogor City have opened again starting Thursday, March 18, but the visitors are still small. "According to health protocol rules, the maximum number of visitors is 50 percent, but cinema visitors have not reached 50 percent," he said.

Bima explained, by allowing cinemas to reopen, it is hoped that the economy in the entertainment sector in the city can be excited again. "This week the cinema will resume its operation, after being closed for almost a year," he said.

According to Bima, with the reopening of the cinema, employees can start working again. "For cinema managers and employees, there will be income starting to encourage economic recovery," he said.

However, Bima reminded cinema managers to apply health protocol rules while in the cinema, namely washing hands with soap water or hand sanitizer, maintaining physical distance, and using masks. "With good health protocols, visitors should not take off their masks while in theaters," he said.

Bima Arya reminded cinema managers not to allow visitors to eat and drink activities, because it would open masks and this could be a potential for COVID-19 transmission.

Bima also reminded that after the screening was over, the studio had to be cleaned and sprayed with disinfectant immediately. "This is to minimize the potential for transmission of COVID-19," he said.

In Bogor City, there are four XXI theaters, namely Botani Square Mall, Boxies Mall, BTM Mall, and Transmart Bogor.

Meanwhile, the manager of the XXI cinema at Boxies Mall said that the cinema it manages has implemented strict health protocols, starting from temperature checks, hand sanitizers, washing hands with soap and water, instructions for using masks and maintaining distance. "Ticket sales officers also wear masks and gloves," he said.
