PDIP Wants To Maintain The Concept Of Green Areas And Public Spaces At GBK

JAKARTA - PDI Perjuangan wants to maintain the concept of green areas and public spaces in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), which was built during the reign of President Soekarno. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized that his party did not want GBK to become a business center.

"We do not want GBK to be dominated by a business center, but to protect it as a green public space and a sports center", said Hasto in a written statement, Sunday, March 21.

Furthermore, he said the PDIP's commitment to maintaining and maintaining green GBK was also based on Megawati's love for the environment. This was forged directly by his father, Bung Karno.

"That attitude of loving the environment is what is translated into green politics in PDI Perjuangan. So that today, tree planting is being carried out at GBK. This agenda has of course been coordinated with the manager of GBK", he said.

"In the GBK area, Ms. Megawati entrusted 3 baobab trees to be planted in triangles or triangles taking into account the distance. Because the trees absorb water and grow tall and big", added Hasto.

Megawati, who is also known as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Botanical Garden Foundation, conveyed a message regarding the baobab tree which is quite exotic and rare from Africa.

"Mrs. Megawati advised that all trees to be planted should receive good care. Including trees that have been planted in waves I and II some time ago", he said.

Through this reforestation, Hasto also said, PDIP wanted to convey the message of the importance of maintaining GBK, so that it was no longer just cooperating for business purposes.

"This GBK as a public space for the community gets fresh air. Public space for socializing, having a dialogue, and exercising there. That's what he hopes through this greening movement", he concluded.
