PAPUA - PLN distributed 574 units of Electrical Power Storage Equipment (APDAL) and the construction of 28 units of Electric Energy Charging Stations (SPEL).

This is for electricity needs in 11 villages scattered in the Districts of Windesi, Yerui, and Teluk Ampimoi in the Yapen Islands, Papua.

UP3 PLN Manager Biak Yohanis Soedarmono Tondokusumo said that this assistance was one of PLN's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to the community in Karawi, Aryobu, Kaonda, Wasani, Munggui, Rosbori, Yetuairau, Jeniari, Kumpeki, and Bareraif villages.

"The process of distributing APDAL and the construction of SPEL started in December and was completed in January", said Yohanis in Jayapura, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 20.

According to Yohanis, his party hopes that the community can properly care for and maintain this tool. So that it can last for a long time and can be used optimally.

"Thank you to the Regent of Yapen Islands, the village head, and all parties who have helped in realizing this program", he said.

Meanwhile, Yapen Island Regent Toni Tesar said that his party appreciated PLN's efforts in providing electricity to villages.

"On behalf of the local government and also the community, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to PLN for planning and being able to accommodate lighting in 11 villages that have not yet had electricity", said Toni Tesar.

One of the APDAL recipients from Kampung Karawi, Windesi District, Ence Rumkawan said that his party also expressed his gratitude to PLN for the assistance.

"With this village lighting, we can help schoolchildren and study in their respective families' homes. Now residents can enjoy electricity from 5 pm to 5 am, we would like to thank you once again", he added.

APDAL is a means of storing electrical power like a power bank which is used to power homes.

The capacity of an APDAL is 500 Wh. By charging for four to five hours at a solar-based Electric Energy Charging Station (SPEL), the device can supply three lamps for two to three days.
