Chronology Of The Slipping Of Trigana Air At Halim: Broken And Burnt Tires, Sparks Appeared

JAKARTA - Executive General Manager of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Marsma Pnb TNI Nandang Sukarna, explained the chronology of the Trigana Air plane that had slipped.

Nandang explained, initially the Boeing 737-500 aircraft with the PK-YSF registration number departed at 10:55 from Halim Perdanakusuma airstrip to Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Minutes after take-off, the pilot reported to air traffic control (ATC) if the aircraft was experiencing technical problems.

ATC directed the Trigana Air plane to make a U-turn, landing again at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. At 11.26 WIB, the plane experienced a crash landing or landing failure.

"There was an incident when the plane crashed landing or landing failure. The plane then made a landing, but was diverted to the right because one wheel of its vehicle was damaged," said Nandang at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Saturday, March 20.

When it landed, the Trigana Air tires broke and caught fire. The plane swing to the right exits and stops at the end of Runway 06.

"At the end of the landing there were sparks, and a little bit of fire, but not the entire fuselage," he said.

The cargo plane contains two pilots, one technician and 1 flight operation officer. However, there were no fatalities in the skidding incident. "The entire crew is safe. Currently they are undergoing treatment at the nearest hospital," said Nandang.

From this case, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) decided to close the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport runway for flights temporarily, in accordance with NOTAM number A0693 / 21.

He explained that there were seven airlines that were affected by the diversion. Two flights from Batik Air aircraft and two Citilink flights. The flight was diverted to Soekarno Hatta Airport.

"Our prospective passengers prepare a bus from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Soekarno Hatta. A total of 27 buses take passengers," he said.

Currently, the derailed Trigana Air plane is awaiting the evacuation process. The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) is analyzing the causes of technical problems that caused the plane to slip.
