JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) decided to close civil flights at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport after the Trigana Air plane skidded today.
VP of Corporate Communication of PT Angkasa Pura II Yado Yarismano said that due to airport closure, flights will be diverted to Soekarno Hatta Airport.
"Starting at 12.30 WIB for the time being, if there is a flight to and from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, it will be diverted to Soekarno-Hatta Airport," Yado said in his statement, Saturday, March 20.
Yado said, currently there are seven airlines that have been affected by the diversion. Two flights from Batik Air aircraft and two Citilink flights.
"We coordinated with stakeholders in handling this derailed aircraft," he said.
It is known that the Trigana Air Boeing 737-500 cargo plane registration number PK-YSF slipped on the runway, so that the fuselage covered a number of runway areas.
The cargo plane contains two pilots, one technician and 1 flight operation officer. However, there were no fatalities in the skidding incident.
