Provincial Government Changes The ID Card Of DKI Residents To DKI J After IKN Presidential Decree Is Issued

JAKARTA - Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil) Budi Awaluddin said the change of name "DKI" to "DKJ" in the ID cards of Jakarta residents would begin if the president's decision (keppres) on the movement of the state capital (IKN) was issued. Before the presidential decree was issued, Jakarta was still the capital city even though Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Special Region of Jakarta was ratified. "After the presidential decree has been issued, we can immediately do it. We are waiting for the presidential decree," Budi told reporters, Thursday, July 18. Budi ensured that the stock of blank ID cards in Jakarta was sufficient for changing the citizens' ID cards after the capital city officially moved to Nusantara, East Kalimantan. "It is safe for 8.3 million (cuts). We immediately print out the presidential decree," he said. As many as 8.3 million Jakarta residents are targeted to need to take care of changing the name of DKI to DKIJ in their electronic ID cards. However, the change is carried out gradually. "We will do it gradually. It could be, this year only 2-3 million can be fulfilled," said Budi. Thus, the priority of changing the name of DKI to DKI is still targeting residents who really want to carry out administrative services such as data changes in their ID cards.

Budi guaranteed that the process of changing DKI's name to DKIJ in Jakarta residents' ID cards did not take long. "The process of changing for a while. About 5 to 10 minutes is complete, it's enough to just bring an ID card," he added.
