Today Khofifah To Jakarta Receives PKS Recommendations Forward In The East Java Gubernatorial Election

The candidate for governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa revealed that he had received additional supporting parties for the 2024 East Java Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

"God willing, I will take recommendations tomorrow (Thursday 18 July) in Jakarta," Khofifah said during an interview at her residence, Wednesday, July 17.

Even so, Khofifah was reluctant to reveal which party would provide the recommendation. However, a strong signal about the recommendation came from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), because this party previously indicated intense communication with the incumbent.

It is known that Khofifah-Emil has received recommendations from seven political parties. The seven parties, namely the Golkar Party, Gerindra Party, the National Mandate Party, the Democratic Party, the Indonesian Solidarity Party, the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), and the United Development Party (PPP).

Responding to the discourse of forming a new axis by PDIP and PKB, Khofifah stated that she had no problem with it. For him, every party has the right to nominate anyone as a bacakada as long as it meets the seat requirements in parliament.

"Everyone has the right to do that. Everyone has the right to run for office. This is part of a democratic process where all parties should be given the same opportunity. In the 2024 Pilkada, we need to build synergy with all those involved," he said.
