JAKARTA - The chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Mardani Ali Sera, appreciated Gibran Rakabuming Raka's decision to resign from the position of Mayor of Solo ahead of his inauguration as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. According to Mardani, it is better to be late than to force himself as regional head in the middle of his status as vice president-elect. "First, it's good to resign. The nation's affairs are much bigger than taking care of one city," said Mardani to reporters, Wednesday, July 17. "Secondly, being late than no. Even though it's slower, it's better than not," he continued. This member of Commission II of the DPR RI assessed that Gibran had to prepare himself before officially leading Indonesia with the elected president, Prabowo Subianto. "Thirdly, with his age and experience, Mas Gibran is still young and needs to absorb and prepare himself a lot," explained Mardani.
