KPK Invites Proactive People To Highlight Troubled Capims

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) invites the public to pay more attention to the candidate for leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board, which is currently being verified by the selection committee. In fact, they were asked to inform if there were figures who were deemed problematic.

"If there are candidates who according to the public need special attention, I think the public can convey this to the Pansel as a consideration," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted Wednesday, July 17.

Tessa said her agency would also not interfere with the ongoing process of the Capim Pansel and the KPK Council. Including, asking to cross out certain names.

This was conveyed by Tessa referring to the 2019 incident when hundreds of anti-corruption commission employees asked Firli Bahuri to be dropped as a Capim. "The KPK has not recommended or did not recommend candidates (certainly, ed) because we both know that until now, there has been no official release from the committee of anyone (who passed the document verification process, ed)," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

As for the latest data or on Monday, July 15 at 23.59 WIB, there were 525 registrants of Capim and Dewas, most of whom were men. The Pansel said 318 of them registered as candidates for leadership.

In detail there are 298 male and female registrants. Meanwhile, for the KPK Supervisory Board, there were 207 registered people consisting of 184 men and 23 women.

Pansel Capim and the KPK Council said that after the registration process was closed, document verification would be carried out and announced on July 24. Later, the public can provide input through the Apple application and official email to respond to candidates who pass.
