JAKARTA - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Indian Intelligence arrested two people who stole and distributed paper containing the exam for entering a medical campus or NEET-UG, Tuesday 16 July.

India Today reported that one of the suspects was caught red-handed stealing NEET-UG paper from the trunk of the National Testing Agency.

The two thieves were identified as Pankaj Kumar of Patna and Raju Singh of Hazaribagh.

In early July 2024, CBI also arrested Rakesh Rangan alias Rocky in Bihar regarding the NEET-UG paper theft case.

Rakesh is believed to be one of the key players in a paper leak containing the entrance exam for this medical campus. CBI set traps and carried out raids on four locations in Patna and Kolkata to arrest Ranjian.

CBI has so far arrested a number of perpetrators to uncover a conspiracy that sparked a polemic in India.

The NEET-UG exam in India which was held on May 5, 2024 was marked by allegations of fraud and banknote leaks.

Allegations of fraud are also suspected to have occurred in the selection to enter the medical campus because there were 67 candidates who received a full score of 720.

As a result of the polemic, the National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducted the test received strong criticism.

The Indian government has fired the NTA Chair and formed a panel to evaluate and improve the function of NTA.
