KAI Seals Official House In Surabaya

SURABAYA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya sealed the official residence located on Jalan Gerbong, Kelurahan Boyfriendkeling in an effort to maintain the state assets authorized by KAI.

KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations Manager Luqman Arif said the assets were KAI assets and were legally valid as evidenced by a Certificate of Use and Registered in the company's assets.

"So far, the land has been used for businesses and places to live. The occupants have not carried out their obligations for years, namely paying rent to KAI as the owner of the asset," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 15.

Prior to the sealing, said Luqman, various persuasive efforts had been made to the asset tenants who had a land area of 1,280 square meters (m2) and the 250 m2 building area, in order to carry out a lease agreement.

"However, the occupants did not have good faith, so we gave a warning letter one to three. KAI Daop 8 has also coordinated with the local area before carrying out the activity," he said.

After controlling it and to avoid the use of the land, his party immediately installed a fence and crashed it at that location.

"PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya will continue to monitor assets in its area, including controlling the assets of PT KAI in other places which are currently still being used or used by other parties without any contract ties with PT KAI as the owner of the asset," said Luqman Arif.

Previously, his party had also carried out control and vacated the land in Jepara Village, Bubutan District, Surabaya City as an effort to maintain state assets authorized by PT KAI, the assets consisted of 97 buildings or kiosks with an area of 16,281 square meters.

In the building, PT KAI has a basis, namely Building Use Rights Certificate (HGB) No. 00014 of 2014, letter from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK-RI) Number: R-4002/10-12/09/2014 dated 16 September 2014 regarding the follow-up to Control of State Property (BMN) in the PT. Then also the Regulation of the Minister of SOEs Number: Per-13/MBU/09/2014 concerning Guidelines for the Utilization of Permanent Assets of State-Owned Enterprises.

KAI Daop 8 appealed to the entire community to comply with applicable regulations regarding the ownership and utilization of state assets

"We will continue to collaborate with the regions and related agencies to make efforts to maintain the company's assets and utilize them," he said.
