PDIP Admits Anies Baswedan Is The Strongest For The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

PDIP politician Eriko Sotarduga admits that Anies Baswedan's name is still the strongest as a candidate for governor candidate (cagub) Jakarta.

Therefore, PDIP has begun to build intensive communication with PKB and PKS which have expressed their support for the 2024 Pilkada.

Apart from Anies, Eriko said, there were four names discussed internally at the PDIP. Namely Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, Tri Rismaharini, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, and former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa.

"We must honestly admit that Pak Anies' potential is indeed great. Until now, from the results of the surveys circulating, Mr. Anies is still the highest. But it also does not rule out the possibility that the other 4 are also internal, we are strengthening," Eriko told reporters, Monday, July 15.

Nevertheless, continued Eriko, the name of the cagub that will be carried by PDIP will wait for the decision of the General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri. While waiting for the results of the survey conducted internally.

"But who will be decided later, of course, it is the authority of the general chairman, and now we are checking up to the level of the branches, up to the RT/RW level. And of course we are also waiting for the results of the ongoing survey," he said.

Eriko said that the DPD and DPP PDIP Jakarta had communicated with Anies and the parties that supported the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

"In our PDIP DPD, Adi Widjaya's brother, according to Adi Widjaya's statement and Deserves Nainggolan, the Secretary of the DPD. They have communicated. That's right. From the DPP level, we were assigned as the supervisors together. Mr. Secretary General, Hasto Kristianto, me and also Mr. Komar. Of course, we have spoken non-formally to parties that support Mr. Anies," he said.

In fact, he said, the PDIP DPP had discussed formally with PKB and PKS regarding the direction of support in the Pilkada. Furthermore, the results of the communication will be reported to the general chairman.

"Yes, we have spoken formally. But officially later, of course, we will discuss it again inside. Because whatever after that, we have to report it to the general chairman. The task of the DPD is to capture, it's us who filtered it, right. Of course, the General Chairperson will decide later," he concluded.
