JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya thwarted efforts to circulate 5 kilograms of methamphetamine and 20 thousand ecstasy pills in the North Jakarta area. In the disclosure, two people were named as suspects. "For this type of methamphetamine, it was found that we weighed approximately 5 kilograms and ecstasy, which amounted to approximately 20 thousand pills yesterday," said Director of Drug Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Donald P. Simanjuntak, to reporters, Monday, July 15, The two people who became suspects had the initials I and F. However, in this case, they were arrested at different locations. "So at that time we arrested two men along with their narcotics evidence," he said. From the results of the new investigation, it was known that one of the suspects, namely F, was a recidivist of a similar case. Meanwhile, for the origin of the drug, it is said that the process of further investigation is still being carried out.

"One of the initials F has been in and out of detention three times related to the same case, namely the narcotics case," said Donald. In this case, the two suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. Thus, they face a minimum imprisonment of 5 years and a maximum of life or the death penalty.
