Head Of Bawaslu Ensures No Re-voting Fraud Of DPD RI

Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja monitored the implementation of the Re-voting (PSU) of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) in two regions in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) on Saturday, to ensure that there were no frauds or violations.

Rahmat, who was accompanied by the Head of West Sumatra Bawaslu, Alni, visited the polling stations (TPS) in Pariaman City and Padangpariaman Regency.

"Our monitoring is carried out directly to ensure that there are no frauds or violations in the PSU," said Rahmat Bagja in Pariaman, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 13.

He said that in general, the implementation of PSU in the West Sumatra region was running safely, and his party had not yet received reports of violations from the public.

He explained that his party will continue to monitor and supervise the implementation of the PSU, starting from voting to vote counting, until it is finished.

During the visit, Rahmat Bagja's team initially visited TPS 18 Nagari Sintuak, Sintuak Toboh Gadang District.

At that place he monitored residents who were channeling voting rights and establishing communication, accompanied by the Chairman of Bawaslu Padangpariaman Azwar Mardin.

After TPS 18, Rahmat Bagja and his entourage went straight to TPS 5 of Kampung Pondok Village, Central Pariaman District, Pariaman City.

The re-voting of the DPD RI in West Sumatra will be carried out simultaneously on Saturday (13/7) as a mandate from Decision Number 03-03/PHPU.DPD-XXII/2024 read out by Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo on Monday (10/6).

In its decision, the Constitutional Court (MK) ordered the General Election Commission (KPU) to re-vote for the general election of candidates for members of the West Sumatra 2024 DPD.

The Constitutional Court granted the lawsuit filed by the Candidate for Members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra) Irman Gusman.

The Constitutional Court also ordered the KPU as the Respondent to re-vote (PSU) for the 2024 West Sumatra Provincial DPD Candidate Election, by having to include Irman Gusman as a participant.

The KPU previously determined that four members of the DPD RI were elected to the West Sumatra electoral district in the 2024 General Election which took place on February 14.

However, with this decision, the previous DPD RI votes for the West Sumatra electoral district were canceled, in the PSU, now the number of candidates for the DPD RI West Sumatra electoral district is 16 people.

On the other hand, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi has also issued a Circular urging all to vote to exercise voting rights in the PSU for the election of members of the DPD RI on Saturday (13/7).

Circular Letter (SE) Number: 6 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of Re-voting (PSU) Members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) in West Sumatra Province dated July 8, 2024, aims to support the successful implementation of the DPD RI PSU in West Sumatra.
