Prosecutor: Rizieq Shihab Should Be A Role Model, But Instead Instigate The Neglect Of The Prokes

JAKARTA - The trial to read Rizieq Shihab's indictment continues. Rizieq Shihab is said to have ignored health protocols and incited the community.

The public prosecutor in the indictment stated that Rizieq Shihab openly invited many people to attend the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday as well as his daughter's wedding in Petamburan, Jakarta.

"It turns out that the defendant along with Haris Ubaidillah, Ahmad Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Idrus Al Habsyi and Maman Surryadi did not pay attention and instead enthusiastically asked and encouraged the public to attend crowds to Petamburan, which clearly resulted in an increase in clusters of COVID disease transmission. -19. "As someone who is respected and a role model, he should set an example and appeal to the public to stay away from the crowd and not incite the public to gather while ignoring the provisions of the health protocol that are currently being applied," the prosecutor said reading the indictment at the East Jakarta District Court, Friday, 19 Marret.

Regarding this indictment, Rizieq Shihab was charged with Article 82 paragraph 1 jo 59 paragraph 3 letter c and d Law 16 of 2017 concerning the enactment of Perpu Law Number 2 of 2017 concerning Community Organization.

In the first indictment related to the Petamburan crowd case, Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement to the appearance of a crowd at his daughter's wedding as well as the commemoration of the Prophet's Birthday in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd takes place in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
