JAKARTA - The Dutch court rejected requests for further export bans on jet parts that may enter Israel
A Dutch court rejected a request voiced by human rights groups to order the Netherlands to block all exports of F-35 fighter jet parts that may end in Israel.
The case, quoted by Reuters on Friday, July 11, initiated by rights groups including the Dutch branch Oxfam, was followed by another district court ruling in February that the Netherlands was unable to send F-35 parts to Israel due to fears the jet could engage in violations of international humanitarian law in the war in Gaza.
The NGO claims that the Netherlands stopped direct exports of spare parts to Israel but continued to send fighter jet parts to the US and other countries.
Those parts can then be delivered or used on planes bound for Israel and that must also be stopped under previous orders.
However, district court The Hague said in a press release that the NGO's interpretation of the February ruling was too broad and the Netherlands complied with the export ban as ordered.
