1,668 Residents Of Tilangso Pasrah Refuge Due To Manado Floods

GORONTALO - Temporary data from the Gorontalo Regency Government showed 1,668 residents of Tilango District from five villages were displaced due to flooding over the overflow of Lake Limboto, Tapudo and Bulango rivers in Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province.

"Currently we prioritize evacuation locations for flood-affected communities," said Assistant General Administration of Gorontalo Regency Haris Tome, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 12.

He explained that the refugee camps were located at the Tilanggo Sub-district Office, an uninundated school, village PKBM, mosques and houses of residents who were not flooded.

Haris explained, for Tualangno Village, there were 370 people who fled, then Dulomo Village 335 people, Tilote 63, Tabumela 550 and Tenggela 350 people.

As for Ilotidea Village, Lauwonu Village and Tinelo Village are still in the data collection stage.

"Even though the refugee camps are given directions with limited facilities," he said.

Haris said that limited facilities were like bathrooms and beds. However, according to Gorontalo Regent Nelson Pomalingo's instructions, his party is trying to ensure services to residents.

"First, health services, both services for ready-to-eat food. Two important things must be conveyed first so that residents do not go hungry," he said.
