Body In Suitcase Found On British Clifton Suspension Bridge

JAKARTA - British police are hunting after the discovery of two suitcases containing human bodies on the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol, England.

Police received a report about a man in a suspicious suitcase on the bridge before midnight on Wednesday, July 10. But when the police arrived, the man had already left his suitcase. The second suitcase was also found nearby.

The suitcases are believed to contain human bodies, Police Avon and Somerset said in a statement on Thursday, July 11.

"This is a very disturbing event and I am fully aware of the concerns it has caused on our community," said the Acting Commander of the Bristol Vicks Hayward-Melen.

"Our main priority is to find people who bring suitcases to the bridge, identify victims who died, and notify their closest family," he added.

Police said they were talking to the taxi driver who took the man to the bridge and confiscated his vehicle.

The bridge, which stretches across Ngarai Avon and Sungai Avon, is temporarily closed while investigators are examining the location where the suitcase was found containing bodies.
