Already Pocketing Prabowo's Support For The East Java Gubernatorial Election, Emil Dardak It's Impossible To Get A Ministerial Seat

JAKARTA - The candidate for Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak responded to the issue that he was included in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government candidate exchange.

Emil felt that his chance to get a seat in Prabowo-Gibran's cabinet minister was almost impossible.

Because, now he has received support from Prabowo as the General Chair of the Gerindra Party to run in the East Java gubernatorial election with Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

This was revealed by Emil after receiving a recommendation from the Democratic Party at the DPP Democrat Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, July 10 evening.

"It just so happens that the coalition that carries Mrs. Khofifah and I also have the Gerindra Party, which is the general chairman of Mr. Prabowo, the elected President," said Emil.

"So, I think it has been answered by itself that the focus of my efforts to serve is to return to accompany Mrs. Khofifah to continue her efforts and achievements in improving and devoteing herself to the people of East Java," he continued.

However, Emil admits that the appointment of ministers in the 2024-2029 government is Prabowo's prerogative as president-elect.

"I think the cabinet is not an election by running. That is the full prerogative of the President now and then. So, I don't think it's my competence to answer," said Emil.

Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) officially carries Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elestianto Dardak as candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java in the 2024 Pilkada.

This investigation was marked by a recommendation letter given directly by AHY to Khofifah-Emil. Previously, Khofifah also received recommendations for evictions from the Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, and PSI parties.
