"The evacuation of Tulabolo landslide victims on the fourth day was hampered by weather," said Head of the Gorontalo Province Search and Rescue Office (SAR) Heriyanto in Gorontalo, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, July 10.
According to him, the high rainfall at the location made the search not optimal, so until now the team has not been able to find other victims.
"On the fourth day, the rainfall has been quite high since Tuesday night. So for the time being, SAR operations have been stopped. For personnel above who rise on the first and second days will be replaced," said Heriyanto.
In addition to searching for victims at the landslide site which was temporarily suspended, he said, the operation of the police helicopter also could not be used to evacuate victims and or send logistical assistance.
A total of 137 joint personnel have been prepared to replace the previous personnel who have conducted searches on the first and second days.
One unit of heavy equipment at the drill point of 13 was also forced to be temporarily suspended. Regarding the evacuation time of the survivors and deaths, Heriyanto said it would last for seven days from the day of the incident on Saturday, July 13.
This time can be extended if the local government sets an emergency response status.
Data at the Poduwema Command Post as of Wednesday today at 12.28 WITA noted that 85 survivors, 23 people died, 32 others are still being searched.
