JAKARTA - The Minister of Defense who is also the President-elect Prabowo Subianto responded to the mandate entrusted by President Joko Widodo regarding the management of state money through the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
President Jokowi previously believed that Prabowo Subianto, who runs the next government, would pay serious attention to every BPK recommendation so that state money can be utilized properly and managed in a transparent and accountable manner.
"We don't want leaks. We don't want people's money, it can't be accounted for, we have to secure every rupiah, we have to make sure it's useful for the nation and the people," Prabowo said when visiting the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, July 8.
During his inaugural visit to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta after the recovery of operations, Prabowo agreed with President Jokowi's confidence regarding the management of the APBN which is transparent by the BPK under his government.
He also assessed that BPK is an important institution, as well as an institution that is the mainstay of the government. BPK is expected to strictly monitor the use of the APBN-APBD as state money.
"God willing, it will be. BPK is a very important institution. BPK is our mainstay. In the future BPK must be more closely monitoring," said Prabowo.
On the previous occasion, President Jokowi believed that President-Elect Prabowo Subianto, who runs the next government, would pay serious attention to every recommendation of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) regarding the management of state money.
"The current government and I am sure that the government of the President-elect, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, will always pay serious attention to every BPK recommendation. So that people's money can be utilized properly and managed in a transparent and accountable manner," said President Jokowi at the submission of the LKPP LHP Examination Result Report for Fiscal Year 2023 at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Monday.
In his remarks, the President reminded that he is currently in the transition of government from President Joko Widodo-Vice President Ma'ruf Amin to the next government with President and Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"Currently we are in the era of transition of government. In October 2024, I will be replaced by President-elect Prabowo Subianto," said President Jokowi.
President Jokowi also hopes for the support of the BPK and all components of the nation to support the transition of this government to run well, as well as to maintain sustainability to bring progress to the State.
