TANGERANG - A total of 673 families (KK) were affected by flooding in South Tangerang City (Tangsel). This happened after the rain that flushed Saturday, July 6, yesterday morning.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said there were 7 sub-districts from 367 families in South Tangerang that were affected by the flood.

"There are seven sub-districts that were flooded, including Pamulang Barat Village, Rempoa Village, Keranggan Village, West Jurangmangu Village, Sawah Village, Jombang Village, and Jelungang Village," Abdul Muhari said in his statement, Sunday, July 7.

Apart from flooding, there were also those who experienced landslides due to rain and wind that occurred in the South Tangerang area on Saturday, July 6, yesterday. However, he made sure there were no casualties in the incident.

"This landslide land has affected one housing unit and the other two houses have the potential to be affected," he said.

Responding to the two disasters, the South Tangerang BPBD dispatched a team of members to evacuate, review quickly, and coordinate with relevant agencies, to deal with floods and landslides.

He said that the current floods that had submerged in a number of areas in South Tangerang had gradually receded. However, the South Tangerang BPBD team is still on standby, in order to anticipate if flooding occurs again.

Abdul also appealed to the public to always increase their vigilance and preparedness for potential wet hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides even though they were in the dry period.

"If there is heavy rain for more than an hour, residents are advised to evacuate independently to a safer place," he concluded.
