High Rainfall, DKI BPBD Calls 5 RTs Affected By Floods On Saturday Afternoon

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that five neighborhood units (RT) were affected by flooding on Saturday afternoon because of various reasons, including overflowing rivers, high tides, or high rainfall.

"The current interest has increased, which previously occurred in two RTs to five RTs or 0.016 percent of the 30.772 RTs in DKI Jakarta," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji quoting Antara.

As for the five RTs that were inundated, two RTs were in Pluit Village, North Jakarta with a height of 10 centimeters due to rising sea level to settlements.

Then two RTs in South Sukabumi Village, West Jakarta with a height of 50 centimeters due to the overflow of the Secretary's River.

Finally, one RT in North Gandaria Village with a height of 30 centimeters due to high rainfall.

"The DKI Jakarta BPBD mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region in coordination with the Water Resources Service, Bina Marga Service, Gulkarmat Service to suck up puddles," said Isnawa.

In addition, to ensure that the water lines function properly, they involve elements of the village head and sub-district head. "The puddle is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.

Residents are advised to remain careful and alert to potential inundation.

"In an emergency, immediately call phone number 112. This service is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop," Isnawa deed.
