DPR Values Resigning Director General Of Aptika Kominfo Opens Risk Of Legal Investigation

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR from the NasDem faction, Muhammad Farhan, assessed the resignation of the Director General of Informatics Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Dirjen Aptika Kemenkominfo), Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan as a result of hacking the National Data Center Temporary (PDNS) 2 in Surabaya opened the risk of legal investigation. FARhan appreciated Semuel's attitude which immediately resigned due to the breach of the National Data Center (PDN) server. According to him, this attitude is correct as the main controller of PDN.

"Mr. Director General's actions are a form of responsibility as the main guardian of PDN, of course this opens up the risk of legal investigation. So I appreciate his resignation," said Farhan to reporters, Friday, July 5.

Even so, Farhan reminded, the government's accountability must not stop until the resignation of the Director General of Aptika. He emphasized that law enforcement should not be ignored either.

"The government must enforce the law against perpetrators of violations of the sovereignty of this national data," said the legislator for the Bandung electoral district, West Java.

In the future, Farhan reminded, it is a note that every entity that collects, keeps, and processes the personal data of Indonesian citizens must be able to be publicly responsible.

"This is to ensure the security of the data, especially after the hacking incident that occurred," said Farhan.

On the part of the regulation, Farhan also reminded the importance of concrete steps to protect national data sovereignty.

"I urge the government to issue a derivative rule of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP) so that the data protection of Indonesian citizens can be carried out in accordance with the PDP Law," concluded the Bandung City Guard.

Sebelumnya, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan menyampaikan pengunduran diri secara resmi sebagai Pejabat Tinggi Madya Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika.

This resignation was carried out as a form of moral responsibility, as Director General of Ministries in a technical process, for the occurrence of cyber attacks at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) 2 in Surabaya.

"I hereby declare that as of July 1, I have submitted my resignation verbally, and I submitted the letter yesterday to the Minister of Communication and Information," he said while giving a press statement in Jakarta, Thursday, July 4.
