SYL Consider Making An Official Report On The Green House To The KPK

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL is said to be considering reporting to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the construction of a green house in the Thousand Islands whose funding comes from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

The Green house is said to belong to the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh.

"We are discussing it with Pak SYL," said SYL's attorney, Djamaluddin Koedoeboen, to reporters, Friday, July 5.

It said SYL and his legal team would focus on discussing the green house after the trial process. This is because the former minister said he wanted to focus first on facing the ongoing legal process.

"Maybe after this trial, it will be considered that way," said Djamaluddin.

The Green house was in the spotlight after Djamaluddin conveyed that in the Ministry of Agriculture, allegations of corruption were not only related to extortion and acceptance of gratuities involving his client.

However, there are also imports whose value reaches trillions to the construction of a green house on Pulau Seribu which uses institutional money.

This was conveyed by Djamaluddin after the prosecutor read out the charges against the three defendants.

"We apologize for the JPU colleagues who we respect, we are just asking for help, at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, not just about this, not just about this. I think you know that, there are imports whose value is trillions," said Djamaluddin in a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, June 28.

"There is a green house construction on Pulau Seribu, which belongs to the leadership of certain parties, which is suspected to be money from the Ministry of Agriculture as well," he continued.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through the Director of Investigation, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that he had pocketed the information. Then, mentioning that anyone related to a criminal act of corruption will definitely be questioned.

"Anyone related to criminal acts of corruption, we will ask for information," he said.

Furthermore, Asep said that his institution is still investigating the alleged money laundering (TPPU) that ensnared Syahrul Yasin Limpo. It is certain that the case will be handled thoroughly.

"As for the position, bribery in his position, extortion in his position is being tried and then prosecuted, right, yes, that's what is currently underway in court. Now, what is being investigated is TPPU," said Asep.
