Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Asks President Jokowi To Evaluate The Performance Of Minister Of Communication And Information Budi Arie Imbas PDN Down

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to evaluate the performance of the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi due to the hacking of the National Data Center (PDN) system.

"The minister is the person who helps the president. So yes, while carrying out his duties cannot be maximized, maybe the president can evaluate it," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 4. It is known that the community urged Budi Arie to resign after the PDN server was down. People who were disappointed with Budi Arie's performance even signed a petition for the Pro Jokowi Volunteer Chairman (Projo) to resign.

Puan also commented on the resignation of Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan as Director General of Informatics Applications (Aptica) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. According to Puan, Semuel's resignation as his responsibility after the PDN server was attacked by the Brain Cipher Ransomware group. "Those who later feel negligent or then are responsible should be able to evaluate themselves," said Puan.

Puan reminded that the PDN issue had been discussed at Commission I of the DPR. So that the follow-up to the problem can be evaluated.

"This is indeed one thing that should not happen like this. So concretely it is evaluated and then what the follow-up will be like," said the PDIP politician.
