PKS Still Ngotot Duet Sohibul Iman With Anies, PKB: Should Be Talked To The Coalition

JAKARTA - PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid respects the wishes of PKS which still insists on pairing Sohibul Iman with Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. However, according to him, the final decision for the governor and cawagub Jakarta remains with the coalition agreement.

"The final decision will be on the time of registration. Today, the DKI PKB DPW proposal has been responded to by the DPP that Mr. Anies deserves to be a candidate for governor. But the PKB DPW has not yet (agreed) with Mr. Sohibul, but we will listen to the aspirations of PKS, will there be only two coalition certainty parties, PKB and PKS? If it's only PKB-PKS, it's small," said Jazilul at the PAN DPP office, Wednesday, July 3.

Jazilul said PKB still needed additional political forces such as PDIP. Moreover, he said, PKS has not communicated with PKB regarding Sohibul Iman's proposal to become an Anies cawagub.

"It should be so (a coalition with PDIP, ed) because we need plural strength, greater strength in DKI. So I mean later who is the partner of the governors, yes, we will discuss together, like PKS, we will also decide," said Jazilul.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MPR also questioned PKS' communication that did not discuss Anies' cawagub to coalition candidates. Supposedly, said Jazilul, PKS proposed the name Sohibul Iman to PKB as the first political party to carry Anies for the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"PKS initially decided that Mr. Sohibul was a candidate for governor, suddenly he became deputy governor for two days. The two of the governor candidates should have been, Mr. Sohibul is a candidate for governor, Mr. Anies is a candidate for governor is discussed, that's right,"

"That should be the case, should Mr. Sohibul be governor, Mr. Anies be his deputy or vice versa, right? PKB has not yet submitted a name, does PKB not have a cadre? There are many," he continued.

Therefore, according to Jazilul, the formation of the coalition must be discussed first and then determine the cawagub companion of Anies.

"It's not (staying to determine the cawagub, ed), (staying) determining the coalition party. Regarding cawagub it's easy, don't talk about it today, cawagub is easy, there are many figures if only cawagub, the hardest thing is to determine the coalition parties, PKB and PKS, that's enough," he concluded.

Previously, the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council, Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW), responded to the statement by the Chairman of the PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) who said that his party had another version of the Jakarta Pilkada apart from the cagub and cawagub pairs, Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman.

HNW believes that PKB and PKS will meet at the same point to form a coalition in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. Because according to him, the keyword is to support Anies together.

"He said PKB and PKS have other versions, this is part of the dynamics that continue to run, but I believe that there will be mutual and constructive communication between PKS leaders led by PKB, and I am sure everyone meets in Mr. Anies' keywords, right," said HNW, Tuesday, July 2.

HNW assessed that all political parties, including PKB, certainly wanted the candidate he promoted to win. According to him, PKB agreed to the deputy governor of PKS as long as Anies was not made a cadre.

"Of course everyone also wants to win like that, right, and surely PKB doesn't want a coalition that doesn't win, and let alone win, it's a safe presence, right. Then one of the arguments from PKB friends is to agree with Mr. Sohibul Iman as long as Mr. Anies is not a PKS cadre, now PKB can take it," said HNW.

"So for us, this is a dynamic that is still running, but PKS has decided and the decision is one thing that has been communicated very well with other party leaders, and of course it will then allow us to sail to continue the nomination of Anies-Sohibul Iman," he concluded.
